We are hiring a Business Analyst in our Mississauga, ON location!
The Business Analyst will be responsible for operational support, data mining, data analysis and small project work. You will work closely with domain experts, across a wide variety of functions (e.g. Engineering, Finance, Product Management, Sales, Operations) at various levels on a day to day basis. The Business Analyst will support the companys business intelligence, data warehouse and reporting needs across all business system. You will also derive business, system, user and data requirements, and develop reports and Cognos workspaces to meet the business needs and ultimately achieve the companys goals.

What You Will Do:
* Provide day to day operational support across the organization by working with all functions to deliver their data verification and reporting needs.
* Support the companys business intelligence, data mining and reporting needs by providing validated data.
* Provide analytical and technical expertise, collecting requirements and delivering versatile data models and reporting solutions.
* Understand data and data modelling to deliver experienced business analysis to all functions.
* Partnering with technical team experts to determine and detail the efficient design (performance and recovery).
* Apply validated analytical approaches to identify errors or limitations in data and recommend, implement processes to improve data validity.
* Train and support users in the use of analytic dashboards and reports.
* Collaborate with business users on the execution of small projects.
* Assist in documentation of requirements and specifications.
* Perform daily, month end and Ad Hoc reporting as requested or advised.
Who You Are:
* Must have experience working with OLAP reporting tools such as Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, etc.
* Must have experience building content and dashboards in business intelligence (Cognos BI or similar) and data visualization tools.
* 3 to 5 years experience crafting reports from centralized datasets that contribute to the companys decision-making process.
* Solid grasp of relational database structures and strong SQL query writing capabilities.
* Ability to write in Visual Basic is an asset.
* Excellent business analysis and technical capability skills
* Detail-oriented, knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices, understanding of software and database systems and excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience crafting or working with automated ETL pipelines.
* Experience with SSIS.
* Detailed knowledge of finance with an eye for business.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule including potentially extended hours during month end reporting and other key times during the fiscal year.
* Bachelors Degree (Business Admin, Computer Science, Science or Data Analytics) and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
* At least 3 - 5 years hands on experience in a business analyst position in a mid-sized organization. (preferably a manufacturing environment)
Additional Skills Preferred:
* Knowledge of various SDLC and process methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
* JD Edwards or similar ERP experience
* Strong desire to innovate and advance internal technologies and processes
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
* Continuous improvement approach following best practice analytic principles
* Understanding of Project Management and Organisational Change principles and methodology
* Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to our St. Thomas location (10%)
