Job Summary

Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and updates of the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Oversight of the Laboratory Performance Improvement Program. Responsible for Laboratory Standard Chargemaster and Billing Compliance audits. Responsible for daily lab operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Laboratory Information system Core Team Leader: Primary responsibility for implementation, maintenance, and development of the LIS. This includes building lab dictionaries, training of lab staff, interfacing the LIS with other Hospital Information Systems, ensuring availability and clarity of results for staff and physicians, problem resolution including requesting software/hardware improvements from corporate, and optimizing the laboratorys use of the LIS.

* Laboratory representative at meetings involving LIS issues including weekly LRRMC Information System and Lab Market Meetings.

* Responsible for initiating, validating, and maintaining LIS policies and procedures to comply with all regulatory requirements.

* Works in conjunction with the Laboratory Administrative Director and hospital accounting department to assure that laboratory billing practices are in compliance with the corporate guidelines.

* Responsible for oversight and documentation of the laboratory Performance Improvement program according to C.A.P. and TJC accreditation standards.
