We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
We have a Manufacturing Manager position available at our company's facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska. The candidate selected will manage the Central Services department and its employees. The Central Services department supports the facility with the preparation of solutions for viral and bacterial growth; washing and wrapping of glassware and equipment; sterilization of equipment in autoclaves; and washing, assembly and Sterilize in Place (SIP) of portable tanks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* The manager will manage the schedule and the associated hourly workforce to ensure attainment of business results. The incumbent will effectively work within a team environment with the accountability of production execution, effective administration of personnel performance policies and procedures, management of conflict and change, and the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
* The manager will work with various stakeholders in creation of production schedules and staff assignments to meet the production schedule, SPP (standard process procedure) and SOP development, and the training and development of the operating staff to support commercial demand in a biologics manufacturing facility.
* The manager will perform and participate in safety, environmental, and quality audits and investigations and be involved in implementation of related corrective actions.
* The manager will ensure that supervised personnel manufacture products Right the First Time per standard operating procedures and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) , safety, and environmental regulations. Due to the high impact nature of this role it is crutiial that the incumbent demonstrate integrity, credibility, and flexibility in their daily performance so as to motivate others to do the same.
This position will primarily work M-F shift but will manage a team working three shifts during the week and include weekend rotation work.
Education:
* B.S. within Science or Engineering with minimum of three (5) years manufacturing or military experience - OR - High School Diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years direct supervisory or military experience
Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience working in cGMP environment or military experience
* Strong English reading/comprehension skills needed to comprehend detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Manufacturing Instructions. Ability to read and comprehend chemical labeling and warnings.
* Knowledge of aseptic techniques and procedures.
* Basic mathematical skills - ability to use both U.S. customary and metric systems.
* Proven ability to work safely in a production environment. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (hair net, beard net (if applicable), safety glasses and leather skid resistant shoes/boots).

* Leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate direct reports and peers to excel and own the process
* Flexibility to perform various tasks to support the business
* Lean, Six Sigma problem-solving skills coupled with a continuous improvement mindset

* Systems Applications and Products (SAP) experience is a plus
