At our Company's campus in Elkton, Virginia, we are seeking candidates for a Senior Specialist in Facilities Operations to manage and coordinate maintenance activities across a subarea of the organization (WT/SR or Utilities) to ensure activities are appropriately prioritized and conducted in a timely, efficient, and safe manner in collaboration with Operations. The manufacturing facility is located in the Shenandoah Valley along the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains a short distance from the University of Virginia and James Madison University.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their enthusiasm and technical skills as a member of a multidisciplinary team supporting the operation of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and vaccine product manufacturing facilities.
Duties may include:
* Coordinate daily maintenance activities between Maintenance and Operations to improve equipment and instrumentation uptime and drive streamlining of the maintenance activity timeline. Ensure close and clear communication with Maintenance and Operations Managers regarding scheduled maintenance activities as well as unplanned maintenance work and its associated priority.
* Manage and balance the prioritization of maintenance activities for the subarea assigned (WT/SR or UT/SW) in collaboration with the other Facilities subarea counterpart, Facilities Business Lead, Maintenance, and Planning to ensure Facilities Operations business needs are met.
* Coordinate scheduling and execution of equipment downtime, tie-ins, etc. with Operations and contractor(s) for capital project execution, as needed.
* Act as liaison with reliability engineering to conduct appropriate testing and investigations. Coordinate with maintenance planning and predictive maintenance teams to ensure appropriate and optimized preventive and predictive maintenance plans and spare parts availability.
* Provide consistent communication regarding equipment issues and status to bridge across shifts and support teams.
* Maintain equipment criticality board daily and escalate issues appropriately.
* Ensure complete understanding of high-risk work permit requirements to facilitate efficient and safe collaboration between Maintenance and Operations.
* Function as Operations point of contact with Maintenance for the execution of documentation required to return equipment to operation after maintenance activity is completed, collaborating and communicating status with operators, Operations Manager, and Technical Operations.
* Participate in root cause analysis investigations for equipment and process-related issues.
* Provide first-line equipment troubleshooting support to the Operations Manager coordinating necessary follow-up action with Technical Operations and Maintenance.
* Collaborate with Technical Operations and Reliability Engineering to analyze equipment, component, instrumentation, and process breakdowns to continuously improve process and equipment reliability.
* Collaborate with site sustainability engineer to identify and implement energy optimization opportunities.
* Develop and train the skills and capabilities of the operational managers and operational team for identified equipment and process-related learnings.
* Provide aspects of annual process-specific training for all Facilities areas.
* Participates in audits, process hazard analyses, and training programs in the area of responsibility.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, chemical engineering or related discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years work experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or military environments.
The successful candidate must have:
* Minimum of (six) 6 years of utilities, infrastructure, and/or wastewater experience.
* Highly developed communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to handle and prioritize many simultaneous assignments and quickly adapt to changes in business priorities.
* Ability to quickly address issues and collaborate to develop solutions to minimize safety, operational, and compliance risk.
* Experience troubleshooting equipment failures and resolving the issues.
* Experience with a CMMS Plant Maintenance management system.
Preferred Experiences:
* 10+ years of utilities, infrastructure, and/or wastewater experience.
* Process Safety Management (PSM), Mechanical.
* Experience in an SAP Plant Maintenance management system.
* Experience working in a cGMP environment.
* Experience interfacing with utilities, waste treatment, solvent recovery, and stormwater monitoring systems.
* Experience in a regulated industry; such as pharmaceuticals, food, and or nuclear.
