Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team as a Launch Equipment Design Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:

This role will include responsibility for the development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment shock isolated systems for the weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

* Researches, plans, designs, develops and test large ground mechanical shock isolated systems that provide shock mitigation to weapon system hardware.
* Develop CAD models and 3D model based drawings using Siemens NX and Team Center.
* Collaborate across IPTs and develop interfaces.
* Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

bull; A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master rsquo;s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience

bull; 3D CAD modeling experience

bull; Current DoD Secret Security Clearance awarded or updates within last 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

bull; Experience with Siemens NX and Team Center (CPLM)

bull; Experience with 3D model based drawings

bull; Geometric Dimensioning amp;Tolerance training
