Position Summary
This position is for a senior finance professional that will use critical thinking and communication skills to apply accounting theory and knowledge. This position will apply skills to specific areas such as sales analysis, cost analysis, manufacturing analysis, inventory activity, and financial forecasting for Special Metals Corporation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Review financial spreadsheets and other reports in order to forecast current and future financial performance.
Develop financial forecasts that they present to stakeholders who use the information to make financial decisions.
Track the current financial progress against their forecasts to make sure that the company is on track stated goals. Adjust the forecasts and report any variances to senior management.
Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial analysis schedules of actual vs. budget variances.
Aid in preparation of detailed annual financial budget and monthly financial forecasts.
Management/Operations Support, not limited to:
Gross Margin Reporting and Analysis.
Tracking, Forecasting, and Analyzing Variances in Variable Cost.
Analyzing and reporting P&L variances.
Other complex analysis as required.
Process Improvement:
Analyze current processes and develop plans to simplify workflows.
Improve forecast / budget accuracy.
Prepare and enter monthend journal entries, such as accruals and regularly recurring monthly entries.
Light weekend work and travel as required.
Experience & Education
* A BACHELORS DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING OR FINANCE. CPA/MBA PREFERRED. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles. Five to seven years of experience.
