The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II will support an enterprise Information Technology O&M program in Chantilly, VA. Candidate will perform all work at an off-site customer location and will have daily contact with a variety of government agencies and other contract employees during the normal performance of their duties. The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II will install, test, and repair telecommunication and information technology hardware, software, and circuits to include, Desktop workstations, telephones, LAN switches and routers. The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II will review and recommend improvements to operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques. The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II will analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment and circuit failures. The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II may assist problem management network engineers perform root cause analysis of chronic or persistent incidents, and recommend / implement corrective solutions. The Senior LAN/WAN Technologist II will interact with users resolving problems; Applicant could be asked to provide basic application training and is required to maintain awareness of state-of-the-art office automation technology. As part of your role/function, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the responsibilities place upon them.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information technology plus four years related experience
4+ years of experience in Information Technology related field installing and maintaining desktop equipment (desktops, servers and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware)
Experience managing installation projects from inception thru completion
Experience Installing/Configuring Cisco, Brocade, Juniper Routers, Switches,
Software and system troubleshooting and support
Provide technical support and training to end-users
Must have current DOD IA certification (CompTIA Security+)
An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance

Desired Skills:

Training or experience with Microsoft Operating Systems
Experience in thin client set-up and Active Directory
Familiar with basic router configurations and commands
Familiar with basic telephony install, cross connects, troubleshooting and VoIP Phones and Video Service.
Understanding System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and remote management tools
Experience installing and terminating copper and fiber telecommunications cable
ITIL certification
