Staples Technical Operations & Cloud Engineering Team provides resilient and efficient infrastructure for the business applications as well as associated critical support of these platforms. We continuously maximize our value through optimizing our efficiencies, expanding abilities, improving agility, and skillsets of the team to best support evolving business requirements. Technology Operations and Cloud Engineering (TOCE) is responsible for the Architecture, Engineering, and Operations of Staples core IT infrastructure, network, telephony, and collaboration platforms. Additionally, the team supports Staples eCommerce platforms and nearly 200 locations including corporate, sales offices, and supply chain facilities across North America as well as 1102 US Retail stores from a network and telephony perspective.
Your Role
The ideal candidate is a customer-centric engineer with strong technical skills and the discipline to drive improvement and operational efficiencies. The candidate will work as part of a team spread across the United States and Canada and will be working for the Senior Manager of Telecom.
What Youll Do
* Take the lead in working with our business partners to develop voice solutions and 3rd party systems in support of their projects and business requirements.
* Design and development of the telecommunication infrastructure to ensure stability for critical applications including disaster recovery and system recovery plans
* Define infrastructure requirements for the implementation of new applications
* Definition, discovery, testing and assessment of new products and services and provide recommendations to IT management and business partners
* Mentor other engineers and provide escalation support to the operations team
Qualifications
Who You Are
Effective in managing yourself remotely having solid interpersonal skills along with a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure and/or with deadlines.
The Skills You Bring
* BS Degree with 5+ years of experience.
* Background in Avaya PBX and call center products
* Background in Cisco PBX and call center products
* Knowledge and experience in dial plan designs and implementation
* Experience with SIP and PRI circuits
