Who we are looking for

* The Network team is looking to add a seasoned Network Engineer to our networking team. Your goal is to be one of the contributors to the global network team and assist with the transformation to cloud services and a software-defined network. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a global organization and participate in the development of the next generation data center network architecture. Ideal candidates will have well-rounded knowledge of network design and implementation, campus design, data center fabrics and network automation

What you will be responsible for

As a Network Engineer you will:

* Evaluate new network technologies to better improve efficiencies, security posture and meet business objectives
* Design and implement large scale network routing and switching solutions.
* Responsible for understanding the business objectives and translating the business requirements into IT solutions
* Provide technical leadership across the IT organization in support of the network initiatives
* Work with colleagues in other technology and business groups to understand technology and business requirements
* Requires subject matter expertise in networking with demonstrated success designing and deploying large scale WAN and data center networks.
* Leads evaluation, assessment and direct questioning of vendors in pursuit of understanding product viability to State Street requirements and future needs
* Provide training and new technology overview to engineering colleagues
* Develop, document and update standards documentation
* Final technical escalation point of contact for network technologies

* Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them
* Strong technical expertise preferred in the following areas:
* Data Center Network Design (Cisco, Arista)
* Strong Routing and Switching skills
* Wireless Design
* Load Balancing
* Software Defined Networking
* SD-WAN
* Architectural understanding of top cloud providers (i.e., AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Packet decoding and analysis

Education & Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor degree or equivalent desired (Masters preferred)
* 10 years of experience in the network field
* High-level certification in a major technology area preferred(CCIE, CISSP etc)
* Strong written, communication and presentation skills
