Scientist II - R&D Sequencing

Job Description

Position Summary:

Working within the Molecular Typing NGS group in R&D on new product feasibility, development, data analysis, verification, technology transfer, training, troubleshooting, and improving the existing HLA genotyping related products, reagents, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Working with other scientists on assay development

* Working on NGS library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis

* Identifying and testing the variables of an experiment

* Assisting with project planning, executing, analyzing, and making summary reports

* Optimizing newly developed protocols and procedures

* Troubleshooting problematic reagents and procedures

* Documenting and collaborating on newly developed protocols and procedures

* Presenting data using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

* Updating inventory, maintaining equipment, and documentation.

Requirements:

* Master2019s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline in Biological Sciences.

* Knowledge in NGS, DNA isolation and quantification, gene amplification methods, quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, and other relevant technologies is desired.

* Experience is desired in designing experiments, interpreting data, and solve issues to improve product performance with innovative approaches.

* Excellent communication skills are required, and the ability to collaborate both within the team and with other company functions is a necessary part of the job.

* Well-founded problem-solving skills are desired.

* Able to see the big picture and plan for the small details

* Pragmatic self-starter who can manage self and motivate others.

* Good organization and time-management skills are desired.

* Experience working in R, Python or related programming languages/environments are desired, but not required.
