Job Description

SUMMARY: This position is responsible managing four basic goals: Safety, downtime, budget and overtime. Other duties include completing work orders and preventative maintenance; supervise designated maintenance/production crew; ensure tracking of budgets and product quality; schedule maintenance crews and production orders; responsible for logs and record keeping of safety for maintenance department; perform any additional assignments deemed appropriate. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

Experience: Two (2) plus years' in industrial maintenance. One (1) plus years' experience in the pork or beef industry fresh meats preferred.
(Internal Applicants must be a Level 9 or above Master mechanic.)

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills; bilingual skills helpful. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Special Skills: Must possess strong people skills.

Supervisory Skills: This person is responsible for supervising a group of team members who perform various Maintenance tasks or activities. Ensure compliance with all human resource and safety policies, food safety, sanitation and all other duties as determined by management.

Other Requirements: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce. Extra consideration given to team members with technical skills. Good attendance and safety record, Internal candidates must meet the minimum criteria for attendance and warnings.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility, therefore, they will be considered for the opening first. If none of those local Team Members are selected, then Team Members from other Tyson locations as well as external candidates will be given consideration. The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management.

Travel: 1-5 trips per year as the need arises.
