What you'll do...

Position: .Net Developer III

Job Location: 805 Moberly Lane, Bentonville, AR 72716

Duties: Participate in technical discussions with cross functional teams for program level deliverables and software architecture using Agile methodology. Participate in discovery phase of medium to large projects to develop high level design. Follow agile SDLC life cycle (Requirements, Architecture, Design, Development, Deployment of the application, Support/Maintenance, and retrospective for continuous improvement) to deploy working code on time and to specification in a fast-paced environment. Design and develop high quality software features and functionality using latest technologies and frameworks including C, .Net Framework, .Net Core, Spring, Hibernate, NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, Cosmos), relational databases (e.g. DB2, SQL Server), user interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript/Typescript. Participate in provisioning servers (e.g. IIS, etc.) for all environments to ensure delivery success. Engage in unit (e.g. NUnit, xUnit, Karma, etc.) and integration testing (e.g. xUnit, Protractor, etc.) of the web services to provide optimized performance for high throughput-low latency applications. Improve throughput and performance using queueing (e.g. Kafka, ActiveMQ), event processing (e.g. Storm, Spark) technologies, and cloud proof-of-concepts (e.g. Microsoft Azure PaaS cloud, SQL in the Cloud). Perform code reviews to ensure software code quality with knowledge of git or another source code management tool. Optimize software systems and designs to improve performance and scalability. Participate in end to end service implementations, data feeds ingestion, and orchestration. Troubleshoot and quickly resolve business and production issues as well as customer requests. Work across geographic boundaries to assist offshore engineers to understand technical specifications and business logic. All while leading on-site team to deliver quality product before deadlines.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Coding in programming languages including C, ASP.NET, C, WPF, VB.NET and LINQ; creating .NET web services using WCF; developing Backend services using Python, Shell scripting, and UNIX; using RDBS, SQL server and Informix DB; writing unit test cases using Visual Studio unit testing framework; using case, functional, technical flow process documentation along with installation, validation, and backout plan preparation; dynamic UI application data refresh for optical lens using HTML5, Silverlight, C, and SQL Server DB. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969. It also owns and operates Sam's Club retail warehouses. The company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972. By 1988, Walmart was the most profitable retailer in the U.S., and by October 1989, it had become the largest in terms of revenue. Originally geographically limited to the South and lower Midwest, by the early 1990s, the company had stores from coast to coast: Sam's Club opened in New Jersey in November 1989 and the first California outlet opened in Lancaster in July 1990. A Walmart in York, Pennsylvania opened in October 1990: the first main store in the Northeast.

Walmart's investments outside North America have seen mixed results: its operations and subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, South America, and China are highly successful, whereas its ventures in Germany and South Korea failed.
