The ASIC Design Verification Engineer will work on verification of RTL functionality towards the development of Western Digitals next generation eSSD SOC SSD controllers. As a design verification engineer, the daily activities would include debugging Chip Level SoC RTL simulations to find functional bugs, working with the RTL design team to fix the bugs, reading design specs and developing/executing test plans, functional coverage points, monitors, scoreboards, sequencers, and sequences, which utilize scripts, System Verilog/UVM, C++, and other methodologies to increase the rate at which ASIC bugs are found and resolved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Define and develop the test-bench and test plan for verifying RTL against specification using UVM for SoC verification
* Work with ASIC Architect to create tests to measure E2E performance under various traffic profiles.
* Work with Firmware team to define the test plan to cover firmware use cases and review the waveforms at NAND interface
* Develop complex test cases that involve control/data paths of multiple IPs at chip level
* Responsible for developing, executing and debugging test cases in RTL, Gate Level and FPGA RTL simulation environments using Cadence Xcelium simulator and Simvision Waveform viewer
* Report coverage including functional, code and other metrics using Cadence Vmanager
* Work closely with ASIC design team to triage and resolve issues
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Interfaces with Architecture, ASIC, and Validation teams through the product technology development phase

REQUIRED:
* BS/MS in EE/CE, plus 7+ years of Design Verification experience
* Familiarity with ASIC, Computer and Embedded Systems Architectures
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with people at all levels, a must.
* Team player, with excellent debugging skills
SKILLS:
* Mandatory Experience
* Worked on grounds up development of verification infrastructure, test benches and layered VIPs using System Verilog and UVM methodology.
* Require working experience in SoC verification
* Familiar with NAND commands/operations.
* Requires demonstrated technical expertise in developing IP-level and system-level test-plans, test bench development, functional coverage, stimulus generation, reference models, checkers, monitors and scoreboards.
* Good familiarity with all functional verification aspects such as regressions, code/functional coverage and assertions.
* Working experience with Verilog, System Verilog, Object Oriented Programming/C++, Perl, and logic simulation is a requirement.
* Working experience with Design Verification Tools and Process flows with leading edge ASIC technologies.
* Working experience with standard bus protocols such AXI, APB, AHB, DDR etc.
* Highly Desirable Experiences
* Familiarity with writing and debugging C tests for ARM processors.
* Coresight verification
* Formal Verification
* Scripting and test automation for regression.
* Experience with gate-level simulations.
* Experience with Emulation Platform such as Palladium, Xilinx and/or Altera FPGAs technology.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and emails in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to internal customers and other employees of the organization.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
