How will you make an impact?

As a Solvent Service Site Specialist, you2019ll be part of the important research being done in the labs by supporting and servicing our customers onsite managing solvent reagents, replenishment stockrooms, and hazardous wastes. As a member of Unity Lab Services (ULS), part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team to provide lab services to our customers.

What will you do?

* Monitor and replenish solvent inventory at Point of Use (POU) locations, solvent stockrooms, and keg rooms
* Maintain solvent kegs which include, monitoring keg levels, changing kegs, ordering, and returning kegs to suppliers
* Order solvents via ULS Inventory management system
* Effectively use the chemical database to track solvents which include moving, transferring, disposing, and cycle counting
* Transport solvents within a laboratory environment with the use of push carts, hand trucks, and/or pallet jacks
* Coordinate the transportation of solvents and kegs between buildings onsite
* Review, create, and maintain company data reports
* Prioritize responsibilities and support the team and Team Lead to meet daily service levels
* Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & Work Instructions
* Provide customer support to clients (fulfill solvent requests, answering customer emails, etc.)
* Perform audits of cross-functional areas within Unity Lab Services
* Participate in ULS leadership team meeting for process improvements and implementation
* Recognize and escalate problems to the Team Lead and Supervisor

How will you get here?

HS Diploma. An Associate2019s or Bachelor2019s degree is preferred. Prior professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Effectively communicate in response to questions or customer service requests and interact with various levels of the customer2019s organization
* Display a high level of confidentiality for both customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific
* Proactive in your approach to problem solving and operate independently in dealing with a variety of routine and non-routine issues
* Ability to be flexible in changing schedule and routine
* Detail oriented and enjoys working in a team environment
* Customer service experience preferred
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred; experience in GLP/GMP environment preferred
* Must possess the operating skills to use hand-held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary

Working Conditions:

* Works primarily at customer locations, in office environments to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage rooms and laboratory environments
* Required to work independently at customer location
* Extensive walking/standing may be required 75-85% of the day
* May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
* Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
* Must be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts, hand trucks and pallet jacks
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including lab coats, safety gloves, safety glasses, face masks and/or face shields where required
* Some areas may require steel toe shoes and/or bump hats
