Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control business is expanding at our campus at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico. We are seeking a qualified QA Engineer to join our team.

Primary responsibility supporting the Air & Missile Defense test activities at the WSMR facility. This includes but is not limited to:
Ability to act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the documentation, assembly, and test of weapon systems and subsystems.

Ability to work as part of a team of technicians, inspectors and engineers in an ordnance test environment.

Ability to support ground and flight test operations at WSMR and other test sites, often in harsh conditions and/or during extended hours.

Ability to exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness and be viewed as a leader within the field.

Support the site with reviews of quality data on rework, scrap, and nonconformances.

Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.

Participate as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.

Interfaces with customers and program personnel on quality related issues.

Ability to utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.

Ability to make the final decision on acceptability of product.

The locale: WSMR is located in southern New Mexico, and has an area of almost 3,200 square miles, and is near Alamogordo, NM, Las Cruces, NM, and El Paso, TX. The region is high desert with nearby mountain ranges and several manmade lakes that offer superb outdoor recreational activities. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and pleasant climate. This southern New Mexico / west Texas region is a great place to live and to raise a family, and is home to New Mexico State University and the University of Texas El Paso.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.

Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Demonstrated knowledge in mechanical and electrical assembly, disassembly and test.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a PC and applications Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Ability to achieve and maintain certification in technical skills as required by the role.

Willingness to travel.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and must be able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
Current Secret security clearance.

Current or prior membership in an MRBE.

Current certification as a system auditor.

Experience in handling explosives as part of weapon system development and testing.

Experience at a major testing range such as White Sands Missile Range, Redstone Arsenal, or China Lake is desired.

Experience in understanding, observing and enforcing compliance with environmental control procedures for the handling and disposition of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
