This is a rare opportunity to work closely alongside our Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) partners to field a number of future strategic systems that the nation urgently needs. Join the Storied FBM team and help shape and integrate the next generation D5 missile.

This position supports the FBM D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Program as the Chief Systems Engineer (CSE), working for the FBM Program CSE. In this role you will work with all members of the D5LE2 team, including customers, partners, and suppliers. Travel to various LM FBM facilities, customer, partner, and supplier locations in the United States is required, approximately every couple months.

Primary responsibilities include:

Be responsible and accountable for the technical, cost and schedule of D5LE2 systems engineering activities
Plan, direct, review and coordinate systems engineering team, products and documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met.
Lead flight sciences; parts, materials and processes (PMP); and specialty engineering support to program activities
Collaborate with central engineering
Be the main point of contact for D5LE2 Missile Systems Engineering with the customer; sharing and providing systems engineering expertise
Provide oversight in establishing missile architecture, models, and trade studies at missile level.
Participate in the research, prototyping and testing of D5LE2 components.
Contribute to lifecycle planning of the D5LE2 Program.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics) or a closely related technical field.
Demonstrated technical capability and proven systems engineering expertise of 10 years or greater (includes knowledge of and application of systems engineering processes and procedures including model-based engineering, risk and opportunity management, design reviews, peer reviews, baseline control, system integration/verification, and systems architecture (or systems of systems)).
Experience with model-based engineering tools and approaches.
Experience with DOORS and/or other requirements database platforms.
Experience in developing and documenting trade studies and performing the associated analyses. This includes experience in interpreting/using modeling and simulation development and integration.
Demonstrated capability to work with other companies and multi-functional teams in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize, empower, and lead a group of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers.
Capability to build, coach and manage a team, which includes the development and execution of a business rhythm that effectively communicated and achieved program objectives and priorities.
DoD customer familiarity
Possess Leadership skills and experience leading employees to perform productively and cultivate relationships in a multi-functional team environment.
Current DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret.
Desired Skills:
Proven exceptional interpersonal communication skills and team building skills.
Knowledge of LMCO and LM Space structure, programs, and command media is highly desirable
FBM customer familiarity is strongly preferred

Experience with any or all of the following:
1. Large scale missile and/or launch vehicle programs
2. Flight sciences, parts, materials and processes (PMP); and specialty engineering
3. Performing as a designated CSE in some capacity on a previous program.
4. Implementing LM Space systems engineering practices
5. As a hiring manager with personnel responsibilities
6. In Design For x principles and implementation

As a Control Account Manager (CAM) with demonstrated knowledge of program management including proposal activities, budget control, planning, earned value management, and resource utilization as demonstrated by active development and management of OBS (Organization Breakdown Structure) / IMP (Integrated Master Plan) / IMS (Integrated Master Schedule) activities in a systems engineering or program office environment.
Demonstrated a can-do, inclusive demeanor and adaptability to a dynamic environment; demonstrated inclusive behavior, remain open to ideas, and listen to ensure mutual understanding; proven track record to share knowledge, standard methodologies, and information freely among all team members and collaboratively develop solutions with team.
