Role Summary
The Performance Analytics Lead provides expertise in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of performance intelligence that drives decision-making and process improvements in the operational and quality of our Clinical Trial and GRA (Global Regulatory Affairs) portfolios. The Analytics & Reporting team has a strong focus on portfolio, process quality, vendor analytics, and patient diversity in addition to performance benchmarking across multiple dimensions including speed, quality, cost and productivity. To be successful in this role will require work as an individual contributor, as a member of a project team or as a project lead.
Role Responsibilities
As a Performance Analytics Lead:
* Apply business expertise to the definition and use of performance metrics that measure, control and improve patient diversity, operational, and quality performance across the portfolio including clinical trial execution as well as regulatory operations.
* Implement a portfolio patient diversity analytics strategy, that takes into consideration the epidemiology of the disease and census data.
* Develop, enhance, and maintain high integrity Control Tower capabilities, data analytics workflow, and analyses.
* Role will require hands-on experience and applying the latest technologies to execute on complex future state and business use cases.
* Work independently in delivering solutions and manage multiple simultaneous projects against deliverable timelines.
* Convert operational data flows to Dataiku, delivering streamlined and consistent mechanisms for active portfolio monitoring, quality management, and alerting.
* Partner with GPD Leaders to define and implement appropriate measures and establish performance targets in line with Pfizers vision and goals.
* Synthesize data (both internal and external sources) to get a clear understanding of our current performance and trends across multiple perspectives including, but not limited to, quality, speed, cost and productivity.
* Enable sound decision making by Teams, Leadership and Governance by providing performance analyses, business insights and recommendations based on accurate and timely information.
* Provide expert input to respond directly or indirectly to new business questions and challenges from leadership, while anticipating future needs and proactively addressing as appropriate.
* Monitor benchmarking, collaborations and outsourced activities to develop strategies and approaches that ensure Pfizer continues as an industry leader.
* Liaise with stakeholders to measure process control, mitigate operational risk, confirm the effectiveness of process improvement, and identify opportunities for further optimization.
* Leverage a variety of communication tools and techniques to provide analyses, business insights and recommendations to ensure proper interpretation of metric results to enable sound decision making by Leadership and Governance.
* Design, implement and maintain reports (tools, performance dashboards and presentations) for stakeholders to receive consistent updates, integrating intelligence based on analytical findings or via liaising with subject matter experts.
* Possess strong business acumen and ability to navigate across functional lines, progress deliverables when there is ambiguity, anticipate business needs and demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing business.
* Quickly and urgently extract and manipulate data from complex, unstructured sources to respond to ad hoc business questions.
* Is naturally curious and seeks to understand the root cause and context behind the numbers.

Qualifications
* MBA, MS/BS in a relevant discipline preferred.
* 12+ years experience in Pharmaceutical industry in an analyst capacity.
* At least 4-6 years of leading complex cross functional teams.
* Demonstrated expertise in the manipulation of large data sets, integration of data across multiple sources and data structuring to facilitate analyses.
* Candidate should have strong technical skills including (at a minimum).
* Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Excel / PowerPoint).
* Demonstrated expertise in at least one data visualization tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau).
* Demonstrated expertise in at least one extraction/manipulation technique / tool (ex. Pipeline Pilot, Alteryx, Dataiku).
* Contemporary knowledge frameworks and modeling techniques.
* Experience with hands-on AI/machine learning.
* Programming: strong Python and R skills preferred.
* Demonstrated knowledge about GPD Insights Platform
* Candidate should be self-motivated in learning technologies and modeling techniques while being able to explain their work to business customers.
* Strong track record for delivery.
* Experience of drug discovery and development in a global matrix organization.
* Detailed knowledge of clinical trial and regulatory operations processes, data and supporting systems and tools.
* Recognized metrics and business performance analytics expertise.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
* Able to work and collaborate effectively as a trusted partner with stakeholders.
* Conversant with the long term strategy of the business and is able to leverage this in order to prioritize activities and answer key business questions.
* High competency in disassembling complex problems, developing pragmatic solutions and providing guidance based on analytical output.
* Able to make complex decisions that require assessing and choosing amongst multiple options, amidst competing priorities, and in ambiguous situations, to timelines and with available resource.
* Seeks quality information and provides analyses and recommendations supported by facts.
* Able to effectively visualize patterns to identify KPIs.
* Contributes to a learning environment by sharing knowledge and best practices within and across the organization.
* Strong excel skills, and expertise in at least one data visualization tool and one data extraction tool (ex. Spotfire, Tableau, Business Objects, Pipeline Pilot, OBIEE).
