Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a second-year law school student or recent law school graduate interested in corporate law and corporate governance of business organizations for a summer internship opportunity starting in May 2021. This is a paid internship position and will provide mentoring and practical hands-on experience but will not result in a full-time position. The intern will assist NextEra Energy attorneys in the office of the Corporate Secretary with (1) creating content for an internal site for Corporate Governance that will require analysis of internal processes and authorities, (2) review and analysis of entity corporate records and (3) development and updating of corporate forms for entity lifecycle matters. This position is only open to law school students who have completed at least their second year with a B average or higher and two or more courses in corporate organizations, taxation, corporate finance or corporate governance. Previous in-house practice, corporate governance experience strongly preferred.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a variety of routine legal assignments and projects
Conducts legal research and studies proposed and existing litigation
Assists attorneys in preparing and conducting litigation and legal transactions
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
