Job Description:
* Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
* Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
* Holds ability to handle items (up to 45 lbs.) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids (e.g. pallet jacks, height adjustable carts, etc.) and may operate a forklift upon receipt of internal certification.
* Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped, received and or stocked.
* Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
* Knowledge of safe material handling practices and ability to maintain compliance with Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policy/procedure in regard to material handling.
Qualifications:
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of prior related experience.
* Experience working in a warehouse, logistics and/or production environment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
* Knowledge of packaging hazardous materials and preparing required hazmat documentation.
* Able to package material for shipment in accordance with MIL-STD 2073.
* Knowledge of packaging techniques in accordance with ASTM Best Practices procedures.
* Knowledgeable of handling and packaging preparing classified material for shipment.
* Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the transportation process, shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
* Current/previous Dangerous Goods by Air certification.
* Customer service, problem solving, and time management.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiar with MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
* Experience with MRP and Agile/PDM software tools.
* Organizational skills.
