We are looking for a Communications Manager to assist in leading communications efforts for one of our leaders. The ideal candidate has strong media relations skills (with significant experience planning strategic business campaigns); is a strategic and creative thinker; and is calm and level-headed under pressure. This individual excels at working collaboratively with high-level executives and colleagues and consistently delivers high-quality work even under severe time constraints and pressure. Experience supporting leaders in technology, business is ideal, as is the ability to relentlessly source stories and creative ideas.
Communications Manager, Executive Responsibilities
* Manage daily incoming media inquiries relating to executive
* Generate and implement creative, proactive ideas and media opportunities for how executive shows up publicly (with a focus on tech business and policy priorities)
* Help create, plan and track social media posts and profiles for executives
* Develop, build relationships with key media (including consumer/product, tech, broadcast, and policy), and be able to represent and defend executives thinking and reputation with reporters and manage responses for complex news stories
* Work cross-functionally with Communications, Policy, Product and Marketing teams to outline and develop impactful speeches, scripts, op-eds, posts, and other materials for executive
* Support development of an integrated communications strategy/plan
* Work closely with the Creative Services team to develop complementary visuals and videos for internal and external social media communications
* Partner with internal communications team to manage the executives presence with employees
* Work with communication teams to identify opportunities to promote and distribute appearances and related materials to increase visibility and impact
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Communications, English or related field
* 4+ years of experience in public relations and media relations
* Experience in working with, and creating and editing for C-suite leadership
* Crisis communications and strategic planning experience
* Experience working cross-functionally, including with policy, product, legal and marketing teams
