The Opportunity

The Sr. Trading Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients in matters dealing with trading. This position will be responsible to assist the Manager of Trading with all trading desk responsibilities and maintain complete and comprehensive expertise in all trade desk responsibilities. This associate should be able to independently identify ways to improve trade desk operations and procedures regarding issues or projects including product enhancements. This role will take the lead in the tracking of the order flow process and will provide clients general information regarding complex questions mutual fund accounts, fund policies, practices and services via telephone and written correspondence. The associate will review, approve or reject retail trades from clients and also manage the firms risk, while handling various order flow partners to maximize executive quality for clients while minimizing fees to Ally Invest. Works closely with Manager and Director on trading orders and assists clients in matters dealing with trading and/or account maintenance. The scope of expertise will run the full spectrum of overseeing trading accounts and mentoring/training employees. The person is required to have excellent organization skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked high pressure, securities market environment. Direct interaction with clients, other brokers and internal support staff will be a part of the associates everyday routine. The ideal associate should have strong client service, relationship building and communication skills and will have 3-5 years experience in a Financial Brokerage Services industry.

The Work Itself

* Assist Manager in supervising daily trading duties (completion and efficiency)
* Assist Trading & Service Reps in problem resolution in real time and monitor trade desk processes including order processing and handling, trade corrections, etc processed by other Trading Reps
* Support the Manager and Director with strategic direction of various operational and trading projects
* Identify issues/provide data & research to tech on issue, present solutions, lead implementation, testing, and complete follow up
* Assist Manager of Trading with projects such as evaluating order/system/issue behaviors
* Independently identify ways to improve trade desk operations and procedures regarding issues or projects including product enhancements. This includes all aspects identification/data & research/solutions
* Provide mentoring and guidance to team members through coaching and instruction
* Work with market centers/clearing firm on trade corrections and system reporting
* Provide effective and efficient trading support in the assigned areas internal business partners and/or external customers and clients
* Maintain a complete and comprehensive expertise in all trade desk responsibilities (DVP, Manager responsibilities, Futures risk, etc). Identify new processes if applicable.
* SME for the trading of payment for order flow.
* Provide assistance to clients by answering phone calls and responding to emails and Live Chats
* Placing and/or facilitating execution of client orders, resolving complex customer trading issues
* Works with margin accounts and reviews buying power as well as maintenance levels
* Assists customers with complex and advanced orders or with account questions; respond to customer inquiries on related issues; troubleshoot basic technical problems
* Process information associated with clients account, research more complex issues to correct/minimize problems
* Service internal requests and maintain inventories positions to ensure the firm is not at any undue risk
* Provide excellent customer care in a professional manner
* May be requested to partner with support and/or operations teams to perform requirement gathering or assisting in development of applications to improve accuracy and efficiency in the trading service environment
* Understand, comply, maintain and reinforce regulatory and firms policies and procedure/guidelines.
* Mentor and groom CSRs and add representatives as necessary.
* Identify areas to improve operational efficiencies and product enhancements.
* Proven expertise and in Microsoft Desktop Operations systems (Windows 7, WindowsXP, Apple Mac OS X).
* Expert experience in desktop trading tools.

* Minimum 3+ years in client related support in the financial services or brokerage retail environment or related industry
* Strong interpersonal skills are required.
* Knowledge or experience working in financial services and/or other regulated environment is a plus
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience
