This position, within the Global Institutional Client Group (GICG), is seeking an Associate to join their team in New York. GICG focuses on building relationships across traditional and alternative asset managers, financial sponsors, family offices, international pensions and sovereign wealth funds. This role will have a particular focus on client support with a group of the most sophisticated investment firms around the world traditional and alternative asset managers.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of equity and credit markets, a strong work ethic, ability to research and generate unique content for clients, and creative, team-oriented approach to solving problems. The Associate will also be responsible for working with the teams senior relationship managers, focusing on supporting their client needs. This can include creating client pitch and meeting materials as well as other tasks such as logging and updating databases as it relates to the overall client relationship and strategy. In addition, the Associate must have solid communication skills, as outreach across various desks within Wells Fargo will be a must.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business units risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: capital markets, investment banking or industry-specific sector; or a PhD in quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering obtained by date of hire; or MBA; or 6+ years of former military experience

* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Other Desired Qualifications
* 1-3+ years of financial services industry experience, preferably working with a traditional and alternative asset manager client base
* Ability to work and be proactive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
* Superior Excel and Power Point skills
* Diligent, thorough, detail oriented
Job Expectations
* Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
* Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
* Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
