Responsibilities
The Director of Performance Improvement organizes, plans, develops, implements and oversees all performance improvement activities of the Hospital. Coordinates, oversees and participates in the functioning of all Medical Staff and hospital committees; acts as a liaison between committees and teams; interfaces with members of the Medical Staff and department directors and ensures that reports are submitted as required. Coordinates and actively participates in preparation of all external agency surveys. Assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the PI department; maintains current policies and procedures. The individual in this role is responsible for coordinating the risk management efforts and making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Gafield Park Hospital. This individual serves as a key member of hospital leadership.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree, Master's degree in healthcare related field preferred.
Experience: Prefer 4 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, 2 years experience in a supervisory position.
Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.
Knowledge: Possesses knowledge of principles of risk management and performance improvement related to a health care environment. Current knowledge of regulating /accrediting agency guidelines. Basic knowledge of computer skills and statistical analysis desired.
