Position Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Follows procedures and SOPs established in the department. Unloads packaging materials and ingredients from trailers into appropriate storage bays neatly and without damage.
* Assures all safety measures are being performed before and during unloading and loading of trailers.
* Accurately completes required reports as needed.
* Keeps production lines stocked with necessary materials, if required.
* Keeps all areas clean and orderly.
* Must rotate packaging and ingredients by using the FIFO Inventory Method.
* Must be able to operate EIM system for loading and inventory movement of finished goods inventory.
* Reports all damaged incoming product to the supervisor for disposition.
* Clean and inspect outbound trailers, as needed
* Record temperature of cold products assuring they are within specification if out of spec, must notify supervisor immediately
* Load trucks with proper allocated products Complete all necessary paperwork for loading of outbound trucks.
* Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
* Perform work in a safe manner.
* Abide by all company policies / procedures, written or verbal.
* Work as a team member toward task accomplishments. Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Requires flexibility of wrists and hands. Walking, bending, standing and regularly lifting up to (50 lbs.) and occasionally lifting (100 lbs.) required. Must also be able to lift up to 20 lbs. overhead.
* Must be able to drive and operate a forklift. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF FORKLIFT LICENSE TRAINING REQUIRED.
* Must be able to move heavy equipment when operating the forklift (i.e. changing batteries)
* Communicate with quality control department, purchasing department, production and supervisors on a regular basis.
* Must be able to record applicable data into the various reports as necessary.
* Possess basic PC skills to include reading / sending emails and the operation of hand-held scanners.
* Must be flexible and available to work extended hours and/or weekends when necessary.
