Job Description

As a Global Platform Solutions Architect and member of Tech Data's Platform team, you will be responsible for managing the product roadmap and platform API integrations with vendors such as Microsoft, AWS, and Google, and IBM. Likely this role will specialize in one of these vendors, working to understand business needs across all global regions as it relates to that vendor's technical capabilities and how they intersect with Tech Data's go-to-market strategy. Your role will be translating those needs into detailed technical requirements for development consumption and execution. Further, your role will be to ensure development output meets business needs such that you can confidently document, prepare, and train regional operations teams on what is delivered.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required:

* Provide technical solutions expertise working with documented API sets to intersect vendor capabilities with platform capabilities.
* Develop complete solutions to meet the requirements/specifications of the business.
* Provide internal and external technical presentations and training
* Act as a visionary, recommending new innovations which provide value and stickiness to Tech Data's platform and its customers
* Work with sales and marketing stakeholders across the globe to understand business needs and drivers to help drive opportunities and market expansion
* Assist in determining developmental needs of other technical resources and provide training and/or mentoring as required
* Maintain new and current technical expertise across many technologies, such as data center, virtualization, security, mobility, unified communication, and cloud solutions

Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions:

* Strong experience with key cloud technology providers including Microsoft, AWS, Google, and IBM
* Demonstrated ability to synthesize data and information from disparate sources including market research, business conversations, and technical documentation to convert it into real world ideas and concepts
* Deep knowledge of API and system integration models with proven experience leading projects from conceptualization through execution and delivery
* Able to work with global teams in a collaborative fashion to solve business and technology problems
* Strong operations background, with significant experience in business process design and continuous improvement
* Extensive experience with subscription and consumption as-a-service business mode
* Able to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.
* Knowledge and experience of application stacks, with specialized knowledge in at least one of the areas of Network, Database, etc a plus
* Global business understanding including but not limited to business models, operations, multi-country and multi-currency needs
* Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.
* Able to comprehend, integrate, and improve upon complex cross-functional business processes
* Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
* Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
