Are you ready for a challenging new opportunity in 2021? Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) has an exciting opportunity for a Mission Assurance Lead position at our El Segundo, CA location.

The Mission Assurance Lead (MAL) for the F/A-18 Radar Development Programs is responsible for the quality and mission assurance for emerging domestic and international development programs across the F/A-18 Radar Platform. Primary products include the F/A-18 APG-79(V)4 and APG-79(V)1 radars and other avionics. This successful candidate will report into the F/A-18 & Global Strike Mission Assurance area which supports design, development, test and transition to production activities in multiple geographic locations, including El Segundo, CA; Forest, MS; Andover, MA and field sites. The F/A-18 Radar Development MAL will have specific assignments to support the growing business pipeline for overseas F/A-18 radars.

Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

* Implement and guide a Quality Management System and specific customer quality flow down requirements throughout the contract lifecycle;
* Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements to Raytheon program teams and supply base, as needed;
* Advise multi-functional teams in problem resolution and process improvement activities, with an emphasis on six sigma and lean practices;
* Interface closely with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, government representatives, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) partners;
* Provide quality technical support, including for test procedure development as needed; Utilize quality measures and metrics to facilitate continuous improvement;
* Provide program direction to assure quality tasking is accomplished within budget, on time and as defined in program planning.
* Conduct and/or monitor product and process assessments.

U.S. Citizenship required as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance within first year of start date.

Required Skills

* Minimum 6 years experience in Mission Assurance, Quality Assurance Engineering, or Quality Inspection Engineering.
* Minimum 3 years experience in a design, development, test, transition to production, production, and high-reliability environment.
* Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and AS9100, Configuration and Data Management, and implementation of internal and contractual quality requirements.
* Thorough quality data extraction and analysis skills.
* Must possess a deep process knowledge base and ability to perform quality assurance functional activities in support of programmatic, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test and post-delivery efforts.
* Ability to collaborate with program cross-functional team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
* Must be a self-guided and self-motivated person, able to impact, direct, lead and monitor the activities of personnel who report indirectly.
* Demonstrated experience and ability to facilitate effective root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
* Working knowledge of material review and disposition of nonconforming material.
* Excellent written, verbal and critical thinking skills; highly computer literate in desktop computing and application programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Desired Skills

* Familiarity with airborne radar systems.
* Working knowledge of Failure Review Analysis Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
* Experience with Raytheon IPDS/gating or program phasing
* Experience in bidding processes and development of proposals.
* Prior experience as a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation and capture.
* Six Sigma Green Belt or Raytheon Expert Certification.
* American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification.
* Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Required Education

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
* Bachelor of Art Degrees in an appropriate field of science (Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics)
* Bachelor of Art Degree in Mathematics
