The Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and coordinates exercise programs. Responsible for physical fitness testing and individualized/group health and fitness education.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree. Basic Life Support (BLS). Group Fitness Instructor Certification (must be obtained within three months of employment) for Wellness Center Exercise Physiologist only. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to relate to patient/resident/customer and their families in a positive and supportive manner. Ability to design and implement exercise programs for a variety of different populations/ diagnoses. Ability to demonstrate proper use of exercise equipment.
Preferred: Virginia State License as Athletic Trainer. 2 years of recent experience in a healthcare environment or fitness industry.
