Job Description
Position Summary
This position is the Finance lead of the Coffee category (+$800MM revenue in 2020). He/she acts as the righthand person to the General Manager of Coffee. As the financial representative on the team, the Associate Director of Coffee Category Finance provides financial counsel to the Coffee Category team including Marketing, Sales, R&D, and is a liaison with Operations. He/she serves as the voice of finance in the decision-making process as it relates to quarterly/annual reviews, monthly analysis and reporting, oversight of commercialization initiatives, and development of the strategic plan. The position interfaces daily with all members of the category team to comprehend business results and insure delivery of financial commitments. In addition, the position interacts with the Operations group to support productivity efforts and works with Procurement to align on strategic pricing and risk management strategies.
Key Components of the Role
* Partners with Marketing to develop and manage the P&L based on performance, commercialization, and pricing
* Leads the annual budget and partners with Marketing to analyze and deliver results in monthly business reviews
* Leads collaboration with the Commodity Procurement team to understand the commodity performance and ensure proper translation of pricing into the P&L
* Leverages a team of resources who conduct P&L financial analysis and cost modeling at the individual category level
* Co-leads development and implementation of the pricing and promotional strategy based on competitive prices and commodities
* Develops accurate financial plans and forecasts, ensures thorough understanding of opportunities, risks, and rewards, and influences the business to drive profitable growth
Minimal Qualifications
* Bachelors degree required
* 8 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting
* Advanced business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to influence cross-functional team members
Preferred Qualifications
* BS or MBA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
* FiT and SAP knowledge
* Prior experience in CPG, financial services, or retail industry
* Prior experience developing, manipulating, and/or translating actions into a P&L
