This Position:

The ACS R&D Manager commits and delivers with their engineering team select technologies & architectures to deliver business results. This position will bring innovative non-traditional products from conception to market, meeting the needs and requirements of selected customers. This position will have a technical focus on a variety of subsystems and architectures including electrical/mechanical/thermal and system architectures, delivered as innovative whole projects.

This team builds on the legacy of engineering excellence in the HP Workstation business. Products are designed according to professional computing standards delivering outstanding performance, quality & reliability, and stability under the most demanding compute workloads. We engineer for user-serviceability and professional-class ease of application and use.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in innovation, product planning and development, with a stellar track record in collaborating and achieving results with their team and colleagues. This person shall apply excellent communication skills, and cross-teaming with industry partners, Product & Program Management, and cross-business peers & technologists. This position will strongly influence partner strategies and select areas, including technology partners and system ODMs.

The role of R&D manager has significant influence in proof of concept and product definition, and a strong presence with business leaders to influence business direction.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Manage architectures and plan best-in-class products & solutions within budgetary and project scope requirements of cost, schedule, and quality.

* Nurture and bring to market select innovation and technology projects - identify technologies of interest, and deliver solutions working collaboratively through internal and external partners.

* Drive innovative solutions in mechanical and thermal areas, and whole projects in a variety of technologies & domains.

* Define architectures for novel systems that will be used in multiple solutions across the business.

* Guide technologists to provide planning guidance and technology solutions & deliver a roadmap to marketing and cross-business functions.

* Influence and engage with management peers to ensure we continuously deliver the best technology solutions through the most effective processes.

* Apply and represent HPs and the Business Units Core Values and Behavioral Principles

* Continuously grow your teams skills to meet & extend our organization and business unit goals.

* Ensure optimum talent application and use of organizations & companys assets and maximize business impact on your investments.

* Seek and drive cross-organizational leverage opportunities to maximize company resources

Education and Experience:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required in technical field. Advanced university degree preferred.

* Typically, 10 or more years of related work experience, including 5 or more years of people management experience.

* Direct product development & project management experience

* Creative & Innovative product concept development

* Broad technology & compute industry awareness

The estimated range of compensation for this job at the time of this posting is $132,000 - $140,000. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
