About the Role
As part of the Customer Business Unit (CBU), you will serve a key role in formulating product planning strategies and using tactical engagement approaches, enhance relationships with key decision-makers and improve the value of both our long standing branded audio partnership as well as target new connected car multimedia and telematics product and solution opportunities for the Americas market.
You will report to the Senior Director, Sales - Americas.
What You Will Do
* You will be responsible for taking lifecycle management approach to increase the sales of all Harman products across customer vehicles within the Americas region.
* Play a significant role in formulating a product strategy for all markets within the region and develop a tactical sales approach to meet CBU goals.
* Be an integral team member to the customer product planning, product marketing, and cross carline communities within the Americas. (US, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean)
* Determine the path and rational to improve customer experience to improve Harman's position in the market and overall business:
* Identify business targets through a clear understanding of customer vehicle model lifecycle timing and planning process
* Utilizing benchmarking information and internal collaboration to best position Harman within the planning and marketing community
* Comprehensively understand the customer's business to find win-win business opportunities across all of Harman's technology offerings
* Work alongside product planning and engineering to drive product development by:
* Proposing new technology to key customer decision makers for vehicles coming to market.
* Collaborate with internal teams on designing competitive multimedia systems for specific customers globally
* Guiding development and sales process to a successful SOP
* Create opportunities by:
* Employing consultative solution focused selling techniques with product planning contacts.
* Collaborate with marketing to develop programs to influence Harman product placement in vehicle level placement
* Work alongside marketing to develop and grow all Harman technology partnerships
* Create specific tactics and strategies that increases Harman product acceptance
* Establish strong relationships with PPD, CCL and VMAC management resulting in:
* Increased trust to drive business development
* Collaborate with Marketing training and education events to convey value to the market
* Collaboration with Harman customers on major vehicle launch events
* Midcycle management to ensure Harman can provide value throughout the lifecycle of the vehicle
* Comprehensive full model change proposal acceptance
What You Need
* Bachelor's Degree in related field.
* 7-10 years of Tier 1 experience with automotive OEMs
* Team player with ability to work in a matrixed organization with external and internal customers in all regions with minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to present executive summaries to management.
* Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
* Experience in working in a fast paced, highly measured, results focused environment.
* Results driven, demonstrates a proactive and collaborative approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
* Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including travel, potentially including occasional international travel

* Be willing to travel up to 25%, mostly domestic with occasional international travel.
