DICKS Sporting Goods is seeking a full-time Operations Support Group Leader (OSO to join our distribution center team in Conklin, NY.
DICKS Sporting Goods operates 5 state-of-the art Distribution Centers located in Atlanta, GA; Conklin, NY; Goodyear, AZ, Plainfield, IN (near Indianapolis; and Smithton, PA. Associates at our Distribution Centers are responsible for the final transportation of merchandise to the sales floor. Our critical team members literally deliver the DICKS experience to our customers. Group Leader Teammates at the DICKS Sporting Goods Distribution Coordinates the workflow in a designated area of the distribution center. Maintains accuracy & efficiency in compliance with processing standards within the Conklin Distribution Center.
Shift for the Group Leader position:
Tuesday - Saturday 6:30am - 3:30pm
Essential Functions of this position include:
Assigns associates to specific tasks in order to achieve set production goals.
Research and register inbound shipments for all DCs on weekend
Trouble resolution for shipments through distribution center.
Performs the unloading, loading, staging, and warehousing of cartons.
Practices safe and secure material handling methods and distributes merchandise properly according to standards.
Verifies purchase orders, case pack quantities, and other information prior to receiving merchandise.
Completes all documentation accurately.
Communicates with internal and external personnel.
Maintains accurate files and reporting.
Maintains adherence to safety and processing standards.
Trains new associates on department procedures and job duties.
Maintains accurate and efficient department operating procedures.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Success Profile:
* Knowledge of WMS, PMMS, ASN view, SCI, TMS, GXS
Previous clerical data entry, MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook and PC experience preferred
Basic reading and comprehension skills. Basic numerical reasoning skills.
Record of demonstrated leadership skills.
PC proficiency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills.
Six months of previous DSG distribution experience preferred.
Ability to pass a 10-key test.

The Story begins ...
DICK’S Sporting Goods was founded in 1948 when an 18 year-old Dick Stack was working at an Army surplus store in Binghamton, New York. An avid fisherman, Dick was approached by the store owner to come up with a list of products needed to get into the fishing tackle business. After Dick presented his suggestions, the owner told him he was a dumb kid and had no idea what he was doing. Dick was upset and promptly quit. He went to his grandmother’s house where he spent a lot of time as a kid and told her what had happened.
Dick’s grandmother asked how much it would cost to build the store himself. Dick said it would cost $300. His grandmother then went to the cookie jar where she kept her life savings and gave him $300 and told him “do it yourself.” Dick used that money and his relentless work-ethic to open a bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton. By the late 1970's, he expanded his product line to include much of what you’ll find at DICK’S Sporting Goods today.
