Department Summary

The selected candidate will manage day to day aspects of major Operations Technology projects, lead and manage respective business work-streams, systems, and applications improvements to integrate across larger programs. The Business Technology Project Lead responsibilities include; ensuring project deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget and within required scope and quality. Provide input to Program Leadership Team, primarily the Business Program Manager and IT project managers to develop, baseline project plans, provide input for risk assessment/management and contingency planning. This role will partner with IT/Agile Data Team to analyze and develop technical solutions and recommendations, ensure projects meet business requirements and defined business case metrics, develop business continuity/contingency plans and interim business procedures (during project deployments), and report progress and issues, and updates to project/program leadership. Indirectly lead business project resources (SMEs and/or dedicated project resources). The successful candidate will also be detail oriented, calm under pressure, and work well within a team setting.

Job Description/Responsibilities

* Ensures delivery of Project Scope, Schedule, Cost, and Quality
* Partners with IT and System Integrator on major projects to deliver process & technology improvements across the DOET
* Applies advanced utility and technology knowledge to make decisions on technical efforts and provides a balance of logical problem solving and innovative thinking
* Partners with all Business units within the Operations to deliver the solution

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in a Business or Technology field.
* Less than a Bachelors degree may be acceptable if accompanied by other business/technical training and extensive Company experience in positions that demonstrated required abilities and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters or other advanced degree, ideally in an IT, Analytics or Business area of study.
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* 6 or more years of exempt experience in Business or Technology including at least 1 to 2 at the IT Business Sr Analyst I level or equivalent
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Strong negotiation, influencing and consulting skills
* Demonstrated record of success in like programs/projects with similar innovation requirements

* Partners with IT and System Vendors to deliver major Technology projects
* Applies advanced utility and technology knowledge to make decisions on technical efforts and provides a balance of problem solving and innovative thinking
* Oversight of Project Business Application Leads and Business Resources and provides interpretation and guidance on policy, procedure, and technology as well as lead projects to achieve optimum performance.
* Coordinate IT Technology, Data Analytics, & Business Processes, as well as turn business goals into technical requirements

Hours and Travel

* Requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 90% of the time spent in the office or specific field locations.
* May require the ability to travel between field locations.
* May include nights and weekend/holiday timeframes.
