Production Shift Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Shift Supervisor will be responsible for operating the OLED Department in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner! This individual assures equipment is kept in good repair, schedules maintenance as necessary and ensures equipment is prepped for safe repair and/or inspections. The incumbent will work in an office environment within a chemical manufacturing facility with frequent plant exposure. This role works in a dynamic environment created by frequent new product introductions, so the ability to react and adapt to change is essential!

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintaining production records, meeting a production schedule and coordinating day-to-day goals between operations, maintenance and engineering groups
* Accountable for the safety of the assigned associates, meeting the schedule, product quality, and efficiency.
* Works with engineering to implement process changes which improve safety and quality, as well as reduce product variation.
* Provide safety leadership in the department by resolving equipment high risks, monitoring and resolving For-Safety-Sake items and making ergonomic improvements.
* Implement process changes to improve safety and quality.
* Lead the day-to-day issues of training, maintenance permits, safety intervention, environmental compliance, and 5S.
* Supervise, train, coach and counsel operators.
* Provide equipment-troubleshooting assistance to help solve daily issues.
* Resolve repeat problems, drive change, maintain initiatives, utilize statistical process and quality control, improve procedures, and train operational associates in an overall effort to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), improve product quality (first run capability (FRC), yield, etc.) and continuously improve product cost.
* Assume a leadership role in the maintenance activity by providing direction and equipment preparation support.
* Support the ISO program and implement actions to eliminate the root causes of product quality defects

Qualifications:

* A 2 year college degree and 5 years prior supervisor experience required, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
* Prior experience using SAP ERP system, Process Safety Management, Lean Methodologies and 6 sigma is preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication and the ability coach and develop new and existing operations personnel.
* Digital literacy, analytical abilities and attention to detail are required to handle day-to-day information and data.
