The Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems Division is a strategic partner specializing in delivering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for classified and unclassified missions in the space domain. We provide integrated classified support in the form of space domain awareness, satellite mission operations, satellite command and control and development and deployment of restricted payload solutions.
Our team is currently hiring a Principal Engineer Systems. In this role, the engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. In additiona, analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The Principal Engineer Systems ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. In addition, he/she performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
bull; Lead Integration Efforts of Command and Control or similar systems (data exchange and processing)
bull; Address and detect issues that impact projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact to projects
bull; Prepare and brief technical presentations at informal and formal meetings
bull; Write technical white papers, memorandums and reports
bull; Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to enhance mission operations
bull; Support critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
bull; Support the project management team by performing technical planning, including cost, risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems following a defined system design lifecycle process (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal)
bull; Develop and execute risk mitigation plans and management of risks on projects
bull; Act as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university with 9 years experience or Master 39;s degree with 7 years experience or PhD with 4 years experience
* Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilty
* Ability to lead efforts to field changes to production systems schedule
* Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience
* Ability to travel 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledgeable in Information and Computer Systems and working knowledge of converged infrastructure and related technologies such as VMware, Networking, and Storage solutions
* Working knowledge of RMF and cybersecurity requirements
* Experience with requirements analysis and systems design
* Experience writing specifications, design, ConOps, and Interface Control Documents
* Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers
