Henrico Doctors' Hospitals is a 767 licensed bed facility that consists of five community campuses, Henrico, Parham and Retreat Doctors' Hospitals, West Creek Emergency Center and Hanover Emergency Center.

Our Forest campus is a 340-bed community hospital located in Richmond, VA. Our team at Forest specializes in heart and stroke care, women's health, orthopedics and groundbreaking diagnostic imaging. We're also a national trendsetter in kidney transplants through the Virginia Transplant Center and, as part of the Virginia Institute of Robotic Surgery, we lead the state in minimally-invasive procedures with da Vinci robotic-assisted surgeries.

Periop 101 Course at Forest

* 6 month / 24 week course
* Both classroom and hands-on clinical learning
* Course content includes, but is not limited to:
* AORN standards and recommended practices
* Sterile technique
* Instrumentation utilization and techniques

General OR at Forest

* 19 OR suites / trauma 2 designation

* Heavy focus on teamwork to promote a better patient experience

* Service lines performed include: DaVinci Robot (Xi and Si), orthopedics (trauma related), neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, comprehensive breast surgery, kidney transplants, colorectal, general gynecology, gynecological oncology, general surgery, plastics, pediatrics, vascular, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), urology and uro-gynecological.

Qualifications

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Licensure / Certification
Required: Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license
Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider

Experience
Required: Minimum of one year med surge or floor nursing
