We are seeking a Sterile Processing Tech for our surgery center who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality patient care. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Sterile Processing Tech contributes to the companys mission and vision by assisting with the care of patients by providing properly cleaned, sterilized, highly disinfected instruments and supplies.

What you will do in this role:

* Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment

* Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care

* Demonstrate awareness of appropriate sterilization methods needed for different instruments in accordance to manufacturers instructions
* Demonstrate knowledge of high level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment

* Monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles while reporting any deviation from normal functioning;

* Test operational efficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessing and report problems to OR Coordinator Nurse Manager

* Monitor all instrumentation for proper sterilization prior to releasing for use

* Perform required quality controls e.g. Bowie Dick, DART, Biological Monitoring, Disinfecting Solution Efficacy Testing, Test Strips

We are one of Utahs newest ambulatory surgery centers with easy access located off I-15. Lone Peak Surgery Center has 4 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms where our skilled physicians and caring staff are committed to providing the finest quality care. Performing 300 cases per month, our specialties include gastroenterology, orthopedic, ophthalmology, dental, otolaryngology / ENT, pain management, podiatry, plastics, urology and general surgery. Qualifications

Qualifications you will need:

* Training in basic aseptic technique and sterile processing

* One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing; preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment

* Valid BCLS Certification upon employment***online certification not acceptable

* Certification in Central Processing as per facility and state regulatory requirements
