Overall Purpose:

Applies advanced engineering and scientific knowledge in multi-cloud and 5G to architecture, design and development work in a Research and Development environment for high-value technology and solutions tied to the strategic direction of the company in 5G Mobile core delivery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical expertise is required to define requirements and evaluate solutions for Mobility workload multi-cloud operations. This function will consider Mobility multi-tenant Kubernetes requirements such as cluster life-cycle management, IAM, configuration and audit, observability, and service management. The requirements will be used to evaluate hyper-scale and vendor provided solutions, and propose architectures for multi-cloud operations. This position will also collaborate closely with network operations in the creation of a Dev Ops solution. Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development. Develop relationships with key operational partners. Responsible to identify operational efficiencies and opportunities to reduce time and cost and errors, and then develop technical solutions to achieve those efficiencies. This position will also collaborate closely with network operations in the creation of a Dev Ops solution. Conduct design and development work in the areas of new products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/Certification. Work must primarily involve new and emerging technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity. May serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development.

In addition, you should have worked or be capable of working on projects of extremely high complexity where analysis of situation or data requires in-depth evaluation of intangible factors. The results achieved have business benefits such as cost savings and efficiency improvements to the network and directs engineering projects/people in solving unique or critical business problems that have an impact on major company programs.

Qualifications

Experience: PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or Masters degree in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience, or a Bachelors degree in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience. Supervisory: No.

Ideal candidate is an expert in cloud technologies including Kubernetes, hyper-scale solutions, and industry vendor solutions for multi-cloud implementations. This candidate is also an expert in 5G 3GPP technology. They must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, with an ability to take complex technology solutions and organize into a consumable roadmap for a varying set of audiences and expertise levels (vendors, operations, engineering, platform experts, networking experts, automation experts, executives, etc.)
