The AFES group supports and facilitates new revenue growth through integrated origination and execution of capital structure alternatives and traditional banking revenue products across multiple specialty industry and client coverage teams. AFES structures, underwrites and closes leveraged debt transactions for clients and private equity firms in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Community Commercial Banking, driving and directing the process and activities necessary to obtain Truist's balance sheet commitment as well as supporting distribution risk decisions.
AFES team members have significant leveraged lending experience, capital structure knowledge, and legal and documentation expertise. They are expected to demonstrate strong negotiation and persuasion skills during their interactions externally with C-level corporate management and private equity clients, and internally with Investment Banking partners and Risk Management. The debt transactions which involve AFES are typically the most complex, highest revenue generating and time sensitive within the firm.
1. Provide financing and structural advice to internal and external constituents to support CIB's revenue generation targets while protecting the bank from credit loss.
2. Able to act as senior underwriter with little or no direct supervision; take an active and vocal role in deal screens and committee presentations.
3. Collaborate with debt capital market product teams, Investment Banking and Risk Management to win and implement a complete financing solution.
4. Execute multiple time critical financial and operational due diligence and underwriting activities for sophisticated corporate and private equity clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations and other complex leveraged debt transactions.
5. Negotiate key financial structure, credit agreement and legal documentation necessary to successfully close and syndicate financing commitments for clients and prospects.
6. Provide technical assistance and coaching to AFES Associates and Analysts.
7. Master and adhere to Truist's credit, underwriting, risk and compliance policies and procedures.

2. Minimum of 7 years of related work experience
3. In-depth knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector and/or financial products
4. Advanced skills in financial analytical, sales, presentation, client relationship management, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship management
5. Superior skills in written and oral communications
