Monday-Friday, Afternoon Shift
What you will do:
The Ultrasonic Examination (UE) Lead oversees daily activities and responsibilities of a shift for the plant's UE Testing Department of gas cylinder processing, including compliance with all Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECORE, and other business-related compliance activities.
Your responsibilities:
* Assists UE Supervisor in assigning tasks to associates according to customers' needs, current stock levels and worker's expertise.
* Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work-related problems.
* Understands and follows UE Standard Operating Procedures for testing. Operates computer equipment and value machines (if applicable) in order to conduct testing. Records test results, cylinder serial number, and test date in a timely and accurate manner. Stamps test date and label gas cylinders once ultrasonic testing is complete.
* Maintains testing and time records. Reviews and interprets test results and documentation as it relates to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
* Assists in overseeing inspection and maintenance of ultrasonic testing equipment. Calibrates and adjusts ultrasonic testing equipment to required standards and settings.
* Ensures that defective cylinders or those requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
* Assists in identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
* Assists supervisor/manager in Interpreting company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
* Assists in implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and potential changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.
* Assists in the successful onboarding of new associates and cross training of associates to develop the team and also to eliminate disruption in production during personnel shortages.
* Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment to safely move gas cylinders off of pallets onto testing equipment.
* Additional duties and projects as may be assigned.
What you will need:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Completion of 40-hour Ultrasonic Testing training course and certification required (Airgas provided)
* Prior experience handling/shipping compressed gas cylinders to include use of UltraSonic Testing / Hydro testing methods preferred.
* Prior experience utilizing SAP preferred
* Basic knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
* Aptitude to operate, troubleshoot and maintain electro-mechanical ultrasonic test systems.
* Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity to hand tools
* Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
* Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately
* Ability to operate a fork-lift.
* Ability to routinely move 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally transport 76 to greater than 100 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment
* Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
