JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, this position handles all warehouse duties including shipping and receiving, cylinder handling, and stocking of hard goods in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks and may occasionally work in the showroom assisting customers with sales at the counter.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Stocking, storing, labeling, picking, packing and distribution of all materials and supplies.

* Physical receipt, checking and storage of delivered materials into the warehouse; performs inventory of warehouse materials.

* Enforces policies for proper receipt, storage and distribution of materials; reviews invoices.

* Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

* Ensures all safety rules are strictly observed.

* Follows company policies and procedures.

* Performs related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ability to organize and control inventoried items.

* Perform general housekeeping duties as required.

* Other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* CDL Class A or B License with Hazmat.

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

* 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations and maintenance of warehouse equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.

* Working knowledge of the industrial gas business and welding products is highly desirable.

* Forklift certified.

* SAP knowledge and experience a plus.

* Basic to intermediate proficiency in the use of the company's computer operating system (SAP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures, and the ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations.

* Knowledge of general policies and procedures, including safety and security measures, and the ability to practically apply such knowledge.

* Knowledge of the stock and inventories generally warehoused.

* Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.

* Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs, and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs.

* Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.

* Ability to perform functions during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.

* Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.

* Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
