Position Summary
The incumbent will perform a combination of general maintenance duties, shipping/receiving duties and responding to customer requests in such a manner as to ensure optimal customer relations. Responsible for performing some general maintenance duties, processing orders/deliveries and warehouse tasks, and responding to customer requests and coordinating customer clients/visitors.
Responsibilities
Responds in a professional, polite and helpful manner.
Completes assigned or needed maintenance repairs and project work on a variety of general building equipment requiring general building repairs, but not limited to, the following:
* * Minor drywall, ceiling and floorcovering repair and patching
* Office fixture installations (pictures, bulletin boards)
* Doors and hardware (including dock and levelers)
* Other trades support as necessary.
Prepares and packages up all items dropped for shipping and prepare the necessary paperwork that is needed for shipments.
Receive any incoming packages from various carriers that arrive daily, scan, record and place appropriately.
Actively communicate with client staff to effectively handle material and notify them of problems/concerns.
Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas.
Sign applicable driver documentation as required.
Promote a clean, safe and positive work environment. Maintains all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition.
Other tasks as assigned.
Thoroughly and accurately completes required paperwork.
Assists in emergencies as needed.
Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
Works according to the schedule prepared by supervisor.
Learns, understands and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices. Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe.
Learns, understands and complies with all company and customer policies.
Participates in training directed at increasing maintenance and job-related skills.
Minimum Requirements
High school education or equivalent.
Possess a valid drivers license.
Ability to lift approximately 50 Ibs. repetitively and safety.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Thorough knowledge of shipping/receiving equipment.
Two or more years general building maintenance work..
Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of building maintenance.
Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in general building maintenance.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and others.
Proven communication skills both Written and Verbal (English)
Awareness of methods, practices, and techniques associated with industry hazardous material control MSDS, hazmat, haz waste, etc.)
Current valid forklift operator license a plus.
