Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Facilities Maintenance Technician for two buildings which include the following task.

* Repair and paint walls, floors, ceiling tiles
* Daytime removal of snow and ice
* Plumbing faucets and toilets
* Electrical repairs; lightning and outlets
* Light Carpentry
* Check fluid levels
* Replace filters
* Clean and lubricate equipment
* Interior cleaning; walls, windows, doors, and ceiling tiles
* Clean parking lots, etc.
* Load, unload, move 50 pounds
* Assist Sr. Facilities Technician with projects as needed
* Ability to drive forklift and scissor lift preferred

Requirements

* Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches and hammers
* Ability to stand for long periods, walking, climbing, standing, reaching and heavy lifting
* Ability to work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments in awkward and cramped positions
* Experience using a ladder, and working on the roof
* Must have good reading comprehension, and ability to interpret service manuals and written instructions.
* Must be able to use a computer to send and receive email, open and update work orders and enter time sheet information
* Technical, and mechanical aptitude
* Strong decision-making skills to solve issues
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* On call when required

Education

High School Diploma/GED Equivalency

To avoid injuries, workers must follow safety precautions and use personal protective equipment and must participate in mandatory company-provided safety and compliance training.
