The Director Strategic Innovation Initiatives and Solutions is responsible for driving the translation of strategic recommendations and value hypotheses to innovation initiatives that address key value propositions and lead to sustainable proprietary solutions. In this role you will report Directly to VP, Global Innovation, Diagnostics Platform.

The Diagnostics Strategic Innovation Team that was formed to fuel the long-term growth of the Diagnostics Platform through generation of strategic insights, development of value hypotheses and solutions concepts leading to new development targets, strategic investments and partnerships. The mission of the group is understanding and solving critical health care challenges by generating proprietary insights into select disease areas and innovation trends with the goal of developing innovative solutions of high clinical impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Lead the design and implementation of processes that support speciation and assessment of solution concepts with critical attributes to solve strategically attractive clinical problems.
* Define options for development and implementation of solution concepts including engagement with external partners, open innovation (OI) initiatives or investment.
* Lead and continuously improve the process of validating proposed solution concepts and value propositions through iterative Voice of Customer (VoC) analysis and work closely with OpCo teams and the Dx platform ecosystem to develop processes and mechanisms for minimal viable solution definition in preparation of a clinical proof of value assessment.
* Lead highly visible multi-disciplinary initiatives and provide thought leadership
* Oversee and coordinate the assessment of internal capabilities and assets as it related to the fit with key solution attributes and develop and maintain an overview of key market trends and emerging solutions that complement internal capabilities.
* Coordinate related support at Dx platform, work with all appropriate Stakeholders in related activities and lead the early strategic partnering phase (identification, initiation, deal modelling/-making, negotiation) in select strategic segments to build funnel of potential OI partners in close collaboration and complementarity to Dx OpCos ; work closely with the Director, Strategic Innovation, Research & Value Assessment, Director, Strategic Innovation Clinical Accelerator and Partnerships and relevant other DSI team members, as appropriate and depending on workload.
* Develop a vision of solution concept generation including the potential need for incubation of solution concepts in the process of preparing them for a proof of (clinical) value assessment. Discuss and socialize the vision to actively shape evolution of Platform Innovation Ecosystem.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* Advanced degree in a science, medicine, or business with 7+ years of background in diagnostic or pharmaceutical Product Development and / or Product Marketing
* 3+ years of experience with leading Open Innovation Partnerships, experienced in identifying, cultivating and selecting the right innovation partners
* Extensive experience with developing products, services and market insights based on Voice of Customer analyses and significant experience with product development or research including working in cross functional teams that extend across the limits of own organization.
* Experience with leading cross-functional innovation projects for executive leadership

It would be a plus if you also have/are:

* Scientific background in Oncology or Cancer research, genomics, or immunology.
* 3+ years of experience working in healthcare sector within one of the major consulting firms
* Outstanding communication skills, engaging and motivating outreach across the organization and to external partners and ability to present concepts in new ways and from different perspectives
* Fast learner, comfortable with fast paced team working style and frequently changing focus
* Great team player that is seeking to build a large network across DHR Operating Companies and with external collaborators and is actively seeking continuous improvement.
* Have fluency in German, French, Spanish or Mandarin
