Position Description
Successful candidate can reside within 50 miles of the work location in Willcox, AZ.
Provide a high level of technical support on a regional or system basis relating to corrosion control and pipeline integrity.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Responsible for all activities related to corrosion control and pipeline integrity.
* Design, install, operate, and maintain cathodic protection facilities, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.
* Monitor the condition of the pipeline through pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspection, examination of coupons, data from in-line tools, etc.
* Monitor electrical isolation and identify points of electrical shorts.
* Conduct various tests, measurements, and surveys to ensure efficient operation of cathodic protection facilities.
* Conduct internal and external specialized corrosion tests on steel structures.
* Lead efforts to design and implement effective long term cathodic protection systems.
* Prepare drawings, job specifications and contract bid documents.
* Assist E&C and Engineering personnel with the evaluation / development / implementation and maintenance of facility grounding systems.
* Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
* Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
* Oversee the construction and/or work activities performed by 3rd parties.
* Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
* Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
* Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent of.
* Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent skills and experience.
Specific knowledge:
* Understand and operate all corrosion related instrumentation.
* Good record of safe work practices.
* Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.
* Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
* Ability to operate and maintain chemical injection and pressure access equipment.
* Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with corrosion systems.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
* Will be required to obtain and maintain all company and regulatory required Operator Qualifications.
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
* Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office and various operation systems/software).
* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
* Good verbal and written communications skills.
* Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules (shift work and overtime as needed), focus attention on details and follow work rules.
* Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.

Physical demands that must be met with or without accommodation:
* Lift as much as 50lbs, bend/stoop, kneel and climb stairs/ladders.
* Ability to use hand tools and equipment, repetitive hand use such as simple grasp and twisting motion included.
Working conditions:
* Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
* Respond to/address callouts and emergencies outside of regular business hours.
* Must have regular and predictable attendance.

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
* NACE certification.
* Experience in all phases of corrosion control and pipeline integrity work.
* Experience with CPDM and RStreng.
* Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, corrosion related portions of NEC, and NACE standards.
* Knowledge of DOT regulations.
* Knowledge and experience with safe handling practices of products (natural gas and liquids).
Must live or relocate to live (by position start date) within 30 miles of reporting location.
Job level will commensurate with experience and skill set of successful candidate.
