As the Manager, you will oversee and lead GTO's (Global Technology Operations) Digital Workplace Services Operations Team focused on service optimization. Work with IT partners and leaders to improve the efficiency, resiliency, and reliability of Vanguards Digital Workplace Infrastructure and provides leadership for multi-year technology-related projects, often with cross-divisional impact, ensuring that all projects under management meet expected delivery dates, budget allocations, and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will:

* Manage and lead technical staff by providing guidance, mentoring, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hire, evaluate and counsel personnel.
* Set challenging performance standards, review performance, provide feedback, and recommend wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
* Develop, recommend, and implement changes to department policies and standard operating procedures to meet changing business needs. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. Lead quality initiatives to improve MTTD and reduce MTTR.
* Remain knowledgeable with current and future technologies and provide strategic guidance with respect to the selection and integration of technologies into the enterprise.
* Ensure staff complies with all of Vanguards IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established client service levels.
* Provide and guide support for production issues raised by Major Incident Management
* Present project status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers.
* Develop and implement operational plans to achieve department objectives. Works with Department Head and Senior management in the staffing, planning, development, and execution of desired outcomes.
* Participate in the development of the departmental budget. Reviews expenses and ensures department operates within budgetary guidelines.
* Manage special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

Undergraduate degree in related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience, with graduate degree, preferred.

Minimum 10+ years of experience supporting IT systems with 3-5+ years management experience highly preferred.

3-5 years of experience with Agile methodologies in an Infrastructure Engineering and Development Team that diligently applies Scum principles practices and theory a plus.

Ability to apply quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess, monitor and evaluate performance of services and/or programs.

Knowledge of continuous improvement principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Proven ability to work with attention to detail under tight time constraints.
