POSITION PURPOSE: Assists BOD with the Management of Business Office Operations across all functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides leadership support to Business Office staff

2. Account billing & collections for all payers

3. Insurance verification, financial counseling & customer complaints

4. Training of staff on new processes and payor requirements

5. A/R, billing and report management

6. Month End reconciliation and reporting

CUSTOMERS SERVED: Patients, guarantors, third party payers, staff, patients, families, outside agencies and referral sources.

Qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Understanding of insurance benefits, costs and performs financial counseling. Ability to calculate expected insurance payments, patients cost share and contractuals, based on insurance benefits and/or per-deim rates. Knowledge of Managed Care, Commercial and State Agency policies and requirements. The ability to read and comprehend contracts. Customer services skills. Use of PC, Word, Excel, calculator, printer, fax machine, multi line phone system. Ability to make decisions and handle multiple responsibilities and strict deadlines.

EDUCATION: Minimum of High School Diploma/GED and preferred Bachelor's Degree, but can be replaced for 4 to 5 years of supervisory experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: None.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years' experience in a revenue cycle or Business Office environment. Previous leadership experience preferred however will consider training with the right level of experience or degree in Business/Healthcare Administration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive use of hands for typing, writing, and using a calculator.

* Constant use of telephone and computer (approximately 5-8 hours daily).

* Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.

* Ability to work under stress on a daily basis.

* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and grasping.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* Ability to speak clearly and write.
