Responsibilities

The Willow Springs Center Resident Mentor (M1) provides front line quality care to patients engaged in the Willow Springs Center residential program. Resident Mentors arrive on time and ready to work with patient groups and individuals with a positive, and solution focused attitude. Resident Mentors engage in daily activities with patients including encouraging and enhancing daily living skills, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skill use for crisis management, and building positive experiences with patients. Resident Mentors are charged with the daily safety and programmatic engagement of patients including and not limited to:

The Resident Mentor (M1) is called upon to model appropriate behaviors, provide ongoing education and complete tasks necessary to maintain a therapeutic milieu. Resident Mentors display the values and expectations of Service Excellence while working with patients, engaging with colleagues, and with interdisciplinary teams. Willow Springs Center Resident Mentors engage with leadership to improve safety, protocol, and programmatic skills continuously to improve the personal and professional skills required to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year in mental health arena; experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatry preferred.
