Job Description
Overview
Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. Responsibilities
* Collect and analyze accounting data for accurate entries and internal/external reporting
* Use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and controls that will prevent or reduce risk of potential misstatements
* Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger
* Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
* Assist with internal and external audit requests
* Ensures compliance with government laws and regulations, policies, and professional standards.
* Prepare supporting schedules for assigned areas for monthly financial review
* Manage assigned projects to deadlines
* Work under deadlines and assist with resolving accounting challenges
* Collaborate and grow in a team environment and be willing to learn and be coached by experienced accountants
* Learn and apply knowledge and training in SAP and Hyperion Financial Management
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related business area of study and 0 - 2 years of related experience
* CPA preferred
* Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
* Proficiency in Excel required
* SAP or ERP system experience preferred
