The Opportunity
This role is directly responsible for site specific Fulfillment Center Environmental, Health and Safety.
Who We Are
You will lead the EHS Group while partnering with the site General Manager (GM) to hold site leadership accountable for workplace safety. You will drive the employee safety engagement expectations for the site with a focus on continuous safety improvement. Leads site efforts to support the EHS Vision focused on world class workplace safety.
Your Impact
* Reviews and analyzes metrics, reviews FC incidents and incident investigations, provides feedback and assists site leaders with mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and lower risks.
* Stays connected to the site leadership team regarding weekly safety metrics. Engages all site team members on a routine basis to identify the pulse of safety engagement at the site. Provides positive feedback and opportunities to the site leaders and assists with identifying methods for recognition and improvements.
* Site Compliance and BPM program: routinely audits site EHS program for completion of regulatory compliance, training, reporting, and metric completion. Identifies areas of increased effectiveness and sets the direction to address any opportunities.
* Supervisor of staff: meets with the site EHS Specialist on a routine basis. Provides, guidance, direction and mentoring to ensure the site EHS Specialist develops as a Leader of Self. Completes routine 1:1 meetings to ensure critical safety tasks are completed efficiently, professionally and within discussed upon time frames.
* Focuses on developing personal leadership Brand and developing as a Leader of Others. Identifies internal and external opportunities for personal and professional development and growth. Works with manager to assist with EHS program development.
What You Bring
* Minimum B.S. in occupational safety, environmental & health or related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in EHS program management with emphasis on program development, reducing injuries and driving safety culture.
* Basic experience/knowledge with LEAN principles, process improvement and change management.
* Ability to foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and company culture.
* Experience leading and influencing people.
* Ability to develop and implement programs based on strategies and goals.
* Ability to travel overnight.
* Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong project management skills.
* Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills in both technical and non-technical terms.
* Good facilitation skills, ability to collaborate effectively with company personnel at all levels.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines.
