Facebook is hiring an experienced attorney to support the launch of augmented reality wearable devices and related services. The attorney will be part of the legal team supporting Facebook Reality Labs, which is building the future of connection within virtual and augmented reality. In this role, you will advise executives, program managers and engineers on regulatory compliance for emerging consumer hardware devices, digital health and medical device issues, telecommunications, mobile applications, privacy and intellectual property. You will also negotiate technology transactions for teams in these areas. You will work with cross-functional partners both within Facebooks legal department (such as privacy legal, compliance, M&A, and competition teams) and outside of it (such as policy, communications, and privacy & trust teams). Associate General Counsel, Facebook Reality Labs (AR Devices) Responsibilities
* Providing product teams with legal advice across many subject areas, such as regulatory compliance for emerging consumer devices, privacy, digital health and medical device issues, telecommunications, device apps and terms of service, IP, data protection laws, and other global legal frameworks
* Leading technology transactions, including licensing, development, and partnership agreements
* Coordinating with privacy, public policy, communications and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues
Minimum Qualifications
* J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar
* 8+ years of legal experience as an attorney, including at a law firm or in-house experience
* Experience launching hardware consumer electronic devices
Preferred Qualifications
* In-house experience working for a consumer product or technology company
* Experience advising on a wide range of legal areas as they relate to software and/or hardware development and launch
* Experience in regulatory and compliance issues affecting emerging products and mobile applications
* Experience in privacy
* Experience in digital health and medical device issues
* Experience in technical aspects of software and/or consumer electronics
* Experience in telecommunications for mobile devices
* Experience in technology transactions
